Jochen Feilcke studied political science and economics at the Free University Berlin.

He was the responsible section chief for vocational training and adult education for Berlin’s Employers’ Associations (today UVB).In his capacity as head of the Labour Market and International Affairs Department, he initiated and coordinated measures for mobilizing apprenticeships and training opportunities in Berlin’s industry and businesses.

As managing director for the Educational Institute for Industry and Commerce he was responsible for qualification and continuing education for employees for Berlin companies for all levels of management.

While serving as member of the Berlin House of Representatives and later on as member of the German Bundestag, he belonged to the Committees on Labor and Social Affairs and was spokesman for Vocational Training and Labor Market Issues.

In 1987, Jochen Feilcke began the campaign to liberalize the German “blue laws” (retail opening hours). Nine years later, he could celebrate the success of having led the campaign as the keynote speaker when the German Bundestag passed the law. Since this time, German retailers have the privilege to decide themselves regarding opening hours.

After resigning from the German Bundestag Jochen Feilcke joined the management of Dussmann GmbH & Co.KG as Director of Corporate Development (IPO, M&A).

Subsequently, he was a senior advisor to an asset management company and later on he worked as consultant of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt.

He is founder and owner of Jochen Feilcke Kommunikation Wirtschaft & Politik“ In addition, he is acting as Senior Political Adviser to the PR agency wbpr and Chairman of the Advisory Board of ASKANIA AG (German manufacturer for watches).
